Redemption Outcry International:  Supporting the Ministry

Among those who endorse a rigid giving of 10% of one’s gross income, it is widely believed that failure to contribute 10% to the ministry or organization one is affiliated with results in the individual coming under a curse.

Redemption Outcry International acknowledges Jesus Christ as the Lord of His called out people. Jesus Christ is Lord over His kingdom agencies on earth.  As founder and president of Redemption Outcry International, Prophet Yaw does not endorse the notion of a rigid 10% donation of an individual or family’s gross income.   The idea of a rigid 10% giving requirement is not coded in the new covenant design of truth.

Rather, in the new covenant, the apostles encouraged generously giving to a ministry one is directly under, receiving from or giving because they believe in what is being done for humanity. The apostles did not validate the rigid giving of 10%. Jesus Christ did not validate the rigid giving of 10% in the covenant He established and perfected by His death and resurrection.

Hebrews 7:11-12 If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron? 12 For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also.

The true new covenant believer is a priest unto God and Jesus Christ is our high priest. The aspect of the Law that required tithes to be given to the Levites is obsolete in this dispensation of grace and truth.

This does not mean that believers and people should not support true ministers and ministries.

1 Corinthians 9:8-11 Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also? 9 For it is written in the Law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.”[a] Is it oxen God is concerned about? 10 Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. 11 If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? 1

Paul was confirming the relevance of supporting those who are hired to do a work.  Whether it be a spiritual work or a physical work, a workman is worthy of his hire. We are encouraged to give in the new covenant(present spiritual dispensation).

Honoring the Lord with our substance has been solely focused on money; taking it a step further than money; we honor God with what is of Christ and through Christ. In other words, when we submit to the knowledge of Christ and allow Him to express Himself through us Spiritual fruits are born in our soul and we are then fulfilling a new covenant commandment under grace and truth. The fruits born in our soul are honoring to God and that should be a priority to us.

It is good to give to the work of the Lord.

It is good to support the minister or ministry that enriches you with the grace and truth of God.

The minister is to be a good steward of the support he or she receives.

He or she should be compassionate, and support people with sincere needs, encouraging them and not enabling them.

There are true ministers with several businesses that earn enough to support the lifestyle of their choosing.

A true minister can also have businesses or explore other avenues of income.

We serve God through the knowledge and truth of Christ not for fleshly gain but for the transformation of our soul into His divine nature, which is done through the submission of our will to His grace and truth. Christ gives us the power to overcome the world and its sinful desires. Blessed are those who daily behold Christ in their hearts by abiding in His truth.

God cares about our material needs.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Work in the field of your calling. Any work that you find or create, dedicate yourself to it and you will reap the rewards.

Pray asking God for wisdom and favor. He is our father and He cares about us. Good stewards reap the fruit of their labor.

Proverbs 30:25 The ants are a people not strong,
Yet they prepare their food in the summer

Manage your resources wisely. Be a good steward without being frugal. May God give you wisdom in directing your support.
